This library is located at the Park El Tunal which is in the southern part of the city and is one of the four major libraries of the Public Libraries Network of Bogota. BiblioRed.
Two million inhabitants use this libraries in the localities of Tunjuelito, Rafael Uribe Uribe, Ciudad Bolívar, San Cristóbal, Antonio Nariño and Usme. In this area of the city there are several neighborhoods where people live in disadvantaged or vulnerable situations and to whom the library has come up with programs to promote reading as " Its proximity to the Transmilenio (articulated mass transportation system) has been definitive to make the access to the library, not only easy, but enjoyable. In recent years, The Public Library El Tunal has become an essential part of the area, a place where people congregate around books, to art and scenarios and for reflection and debate.
